  Workshops

9-13 March 2009, Nairobi, Kenya

The purpose of the workshop is to prepare a pan-African proposal to be submitted to IDRC and to finalize individual country proposals.

As you know Phase I project came to an end in September 2008 and our intention now is to develop a second phase to start in the course of the current year. The overall research question for this phase is: “How can e-local governance systems be successfully developed and implemented?”. The purpose of phase II is therefore to use the outputs produced in the first phase to partner with African governments and practically develop and/or implement e-local governance projects on an action research mode.

The expected results will be a common framework for implementing Phase II national projects based on a revised e-local governance roadmap developed in phase I, a suite of tested open source ICT systems/tools and an increased e-local governance research capacity in Africa and publications.
