  Dr. Kizza

Prof. Joseph Migga Kizza received his B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science in 1975 from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda , M.S. in Computer Science in 1980 from California State University, USA, MA in Mathematics from University of Toledo, Ohio, USA in 1985 and a PhD in Computer Science in 1989 from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. 

 

He is currently a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Engineering & Computer Science, where he teaches and carries out research in social computing, Operating Systems, Computer Network Security, and Computer Forensics.

 

Dr. Kizza has published extensively on book chapters, journals and conference proceedings and authored seven books on Ethical and Social Issues in the Information Age, network security and cyber ethics. He has been invited in several talks on the issues of Ethics and Social Affairs and has organized a number of workshops and conferences on Computer Ethics.

 

In 2003, he was awarded the International IIS award for exemplary research in engineering and computing. He was a 2004 Fulbright Scholar to Uganda. He is a UNESCO expert in Information Technology and a member of IFIP and ACM.
