LINK-Centre/WITS University and CPSI, South Africa

The LINK Centre is based at the Graduate School of Public and Development Management at Witswatersrand University. The Centre was established as the ICTs for development programme in 1996 and became the LINK Centre in 1999. It conducts research in ICTs policy and regulation and has a well-structured research programme including indicator studies for South Africa. The LINK Centre project manages the Research ICT Africa! The Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI) was established by the Minister of Public Service and Administration for South Africa in 2002. Its mandate is to investigate and advise government in general and individual government departments in relation to how to introduce public service innovations into their respective operations and thus improve service delivery. The CPSI conducts and commissions research in a wide variety of areas. Its themes include e-government, local government innovation, public management in Africa and a number of themes related to deploying ICTs for service delivery,
